Top prospects to attend ISS Bantam Combine in Oshawa April 11th

Guelph (ON) – Six of the top Bantam-aged prospects in Ontario have committed to attending the ISS Bantam Hockey Combine in Oshawa on Saturday, April 11th.

This week Ottawa Senators’ Minor Bantam RW Graeme Clarke, Don Mills Minor Midget D Dennis Busby, York-Simcoe Express Bantam LC Matt McKim, Ottawa Valley Titans Bantam LW James Buckley, Eastern Ontario Wild Bantam D Jason Horvath and Ottawa Jr. 67’s Bantam D Giovanni Vallati will be attending the one-day Combine in Oshawa.

The ISS Combine is an annual event that features several 2000 and 2001-born players taking part in a series of on and off-ice testing sessions and seminars focused on identifying player’s strengths and weaknesses, proper fitness, conditioning and nutrition.

Clarke is a 2001-born forward for the Ottawa Senators Minor Bantams who led the OEMHL AAA league with 79 points (56-23-79) in just 27 games this past year.  His club will start the league finals this weekend.

Busby, a 2000-born defenseman with the top-ranked Don Mills Flyers Minor Midget club.  The Shanty Bay, ON native is a key part of the Flyers club that is currently in the GTHL Finals and have a berth in next week’s OHL Cup.

McKim is a 2000-born centreman with the York-Simcoe Express Bantam club and is the son of former Boston Bruin and QMJHL star Andrew McKim.  The St. John’s, Newfoundland native leads his host club into the OMHA Finals this weekend in Newmarket aiming for a berth in the All-Ontario Bantam AAA Tournament scheduled for later this month in Timmins, ON.

Buckley, a 2000-born left winger with the OEMHL’s Ottawa Valley Titans was 2nd in league scoring.  The Stittsville native finished with 20 goals and 22 assists in 20 games.  His Titans lost an exciting 7-game series against the 2nd-ranked Ottawa Senators last week.

Horvath, is a 2000-born defenseman with the Eastern Ontario Wild.  The Russell, ON native led his club to the OEMHL Semi-Finals and picked up 18 points (7-11-1) in 27 league games this season.

Vallati, a 2000-born native of Ottawa, was the OEMHL’s top-scoring defenseman this year with 31 points (12-19-31) in 29 games.  He will lead his Jr. 67’s club into the OEMHL Finals this weekend against the Senators.

ISS will be hosting two (2) Bantam Combines – one in Oshawa, ON on April 11th and the second on June 7th in Waterloo, ON.

“We are excited to have players of this caliber attend our Bantam Combine in Oshawa,” said ISS Director of Scouting, Dennis MacInnis, “This is a great opportunity for Bantam-aged players to test their overall skill level, fitness and give them an idea of what can be expected in the coming years.”
