PositionsThe 2015-16 ISS Hockey Scouting Season is just around the corner, and we’d like to take some time to welcome and introduce some talented new scouts joining us.

August 18, 2015 [Waterloo, ON]    The 2014-15 season was an outstanding year for ISS Hockey. With the upcoming season around the corner, ISS Hockey is pleased to add some new scouting talent to our current ISS staff:

Bob Johnson – Eastern Head Scout

Johnson worked in the NHL for 17 years with the Toronto Maple Leafs organization, including the role of Head Scout with the St John’s Fog Devils for three years. Johnson had also held the title of Head Scout in the QMJHL for the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles and most recently, scouted for the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

“Bob’s hockey experience will be a welcomed addition to our staff at ISS,” notes ISS Hockey’s Director of Scouting, Dennis MacInnis. “He is a very well respected scout in the industry and will be an asset on all levels.”

Jose Charbonneau – US Regional Scout

Charbonneau has been involved with the sport of Hockey all his life. Being drafted by the Montreal Canadians in 1985, he played 4 years of NHL, multiple years at the minor pro level, as well as being a part of the National Olympic Program for one season. Charbonneau also is a seasoned player of European teams in Switzerland and Germany. He is currently a Skills Coach in Chicago, IL.

“Jose brings a lot of experience as a player at all levels and as a skills coach,” adds ISS Hockey’s Director of Scouting, Dennis MacInnis. “We’re pleased to add his knowledge and skills background to our staff.”

Smolinski played over 1000 NHL games spanning over 17 years with 8 NHL teams. He is a graduate and also held the title of Ice Hockey Captain of Michigan State University’s men’s ice hockey team of 1989 to 1993. Smolinski was born in Toledo Ohio, but now resides in the Detroit area with his wife and children.
