Jones, MacKinnon, Drouin, Barkov and Monahan remain in the top 5 spots from last month’s rankings; however, there has been a changing in the order, with Seth Jones moving up to the top spot for the first time and Jonathan Drouin moving up to #3.
“Seth Jones clearly established himself as ISS Hockey’s #1 ranked player with his strong performance helping lead Team USA to a gold medal at the World Junior Championships”, says ISS Hockey Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. “He played better and better as the tournament went on, and in our opinion should transition seamlessly into the NHL game in the not too distant future.”
Adds MacInnis about Valentin Zykov’s rise into the ISS Top 30 at # 16, “Zykov has been impressing scouts all season long with his smooth transition to the North American style of game.”
