ISS Hockey Scouting Staff Gains 3 More Scouts in U.S. Regions

PositionsFast approaching is the 2015-16 ISS Hockey Scouting Season and we’d like to take some time to welcome and introduce some talented new scouts joining us.

August 26, 2015 [Waterloo, ON]    The 2014-15 season was an outstanding year for ISS Hockey. With the upcoming season around the corner, ISS Hockey is pleased to add some new scouting talent to our current ISS staff:

Keith Sei – U.S. Regional Scout

Keith Sei grew up in Chicago playing hockey in Franklin Park, Illinois. In 1981, Sei was named Captain of the then Chicago Minor Hawks and led that team to a state championship. An unfortunate head injury the next season ended his playing career. In 1999, Keith joined the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni team at the request of his hockey hero and friend Keith Magnuson. Sei played in several charity games for Chicago until he retired to Phoenix, Arizona.

With over 40 years of hockey experience, Sei made a smooth transition into coaching and scouting. He worked as Assistant Coach for several youth programs in the Chicago-land area as well as Head Coach for the Peoria Roadrunners and Desert Youth Hockey in Phoenix. Keith is a current USA Hockey member and coach and is involved with the “Kid’s First” hockey program. He and his wife, Brenda, currently reside in Phoenix Arizona.

“Sei has strong hockey sense,” notes ISS Hockey’s Director of Scouting, Dennis MacInnis. “With over 40 years of hockey experience as a player and now transitioned into coaching and scouting, we can’t be happier that he has joined our elite staff.”

Steve Glickman – U.S. Regional Scout

For more than 35 years Steve has coached all levels of amateur hockey. His highest level was in Canadian Junior where he was an Assistant Coach with the Plattsburgh Pioneers in the QMJHL. His longest tenure was as Head Coach at Loyola Academy High School in Chicago for ten seasons and although he has coached other teams with multiple successes his most recent coaching accomplishment was winning the Gold Medal as Head Coach for Team USA at the 19th Maccabi International Games in 2013.

Steve has worked three years with the USA Hockey Development Program Select Camps as an instructor and evaluator and also had been Director of the Can/Am Hockey Camps for twelve years. His playing background goes back as being the first goaltender selected by the then expansion Dubuque Fighting Saints of the USHL in 1980. He wound up playing at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and then in 1987 he was signed to a pre-season contract with the Milwaukee Admirals, then a member of the IHL and the minor league affiliate of the Vancouver Canucks. In the interim he left UWRF and returned back to the Chicago area to complete his business degree at the National College of Education.

Steve is currently the Director of Hockey Operations for the Skokie Park District in Skokie, Illinois and has been a Hockey Director for over 28 years. He is also a USA Hockey Level 5 Coach and proudly an original associate member of the Chicago Blackhawks Alumni Association. In 2008 Steve was inducted into the Illinois Hockey Hall of Fame.

“With Steve’s addition to ISS, we’re gaining passion, knowledge and commitment,” adds ISS Hockey’s Director of Scouting, Dennis MacInnis. “He’s the whole package.”

Les Kuntar –  U.S. Regional Scout

Les Kuntar got drafted in the 6th Round by the Montreal Canadiens in the 1987 NHL Draft. Kuntar played for St. Lawrence University Ice Hockey program from 1987 to 1991. In 1991, he was named “Student Athlete of the Year” as well as, “First Team All American” and “First Team All E.C.A.C.” In 1992 and 1994, Kuntar played for the US National Team. Starting in 1992, he played for various teams in the AHL and IHL. Since retiring in 1998, Kuntar had spent 16 years as the US National Sales Manager dealing CCM/Reebok Hockey at the Pro level. Les is now the Hockey Sales Director for ADPRO Sports.

“Les is a very well respected individual that brings a wealth of experience both off and on the ice.” comments ISS Hockey’s Director of Scouting, Dennis MacInnis. “He will be a welcomed addition to our newly formed AHL Division.”

ISS Hockey is looking forward to an exciting 2015-16 scouting season. With our incredible worldwide network of ISS Hockey scouts, we are within reach of every young hockey player in the world.
