1. Erie – Connor McDavid – Potential superstar. McDavid becomes just the third player to be granted “exceptional player” status following Sun County Panthers’ defenceman Aaron Ekblad and Marlboros forward John Tavares.
He is a dynamic offensive player that has the potential to produce and create offensively, and is a threat to score whenever he is on the ice. The premium is on skill and he has the most of it. He’ll be in the league next year but hopefully it’s a situation where he’s in a position to succeed and not expected to carry or turn around a team.
2. Kingston – Roland McKeown- McKeown is a very composed two way defenseman who has shown some real high end offensive potential. He handles the puck and makes plays with a ton of poise and composure. McKeown is a gifted defenseman who ISS scouts call “a for-sure cornerstone defenseman in the OHL” he’s very mobile and has a ton of offensive ability between his skating, puck-moving instincts and shot.
3. Petes – Eric Cornel – With 4 former ISS scouts (Oke, McNamara, Edwards, MacPherson) at the draft table for the Petes, expect them to “get it right”. Petes need a playmaking center, Peterborough, native Cornel possesses the size and skill teams covet in a first-line centre.
4. SSM – Robby Fabbri – High-end, talented player who plays a 200-foot game. Has a high-end skill level and will play on their top two lines in time. Intense competitor wants to make a difference every time he’s on the ice.
5. Windsor – Joshua Ho-Sang – What a pure, natural scorer. Scouts have talked about him as No. 1 overall at times. He has the high-end offensive capabilities to be a difference maker.
6. Guelph – Jared McCann – Hard to pass on his sense and skating ability; will develop nicely under coach Scott Walker.
7. Oshawa – Michael Dal Colle – BPA, A high-end character player to add to their already strong lineup.
8. Owen Sound – Jacob Middleton – Big, solid, young defenseman for the Attack to build upon.
9. Kingston – Sam Bennett – Highly skilled sniper that kept getting better and was a major factor in team’s success.
10. Belleville – Brett Hargrave – Power forward with nice touch around net.
