ISS Scouts have been tracking prospects eligible for the NHL Draft for years (typically from the age of fourteen), so they have unique knowledge of strengths, weaknesses and probabilities for success at the NHL level. ISS Hockey scouts identify prospects that have been chosen by the Edmonton Oilers in past drafts and provide a brief summary of how these drafted players will influence the team:

Connor McDavid (ISS Ranked # 1 in 2015, Overall drafted # 1 in 2015 NHL Draft) – Franchise player. Will elevate the Oilers back to their glory days within two years. Worth the price of admission. His acceleration and execution with the puck at high speed is the best we’ve seen since Bobby Orr.

Ethan Bear (ISS Ranked # 78 in 2015, Overall drafted # 124 in 2015 NHL Draft) – Great value pick, he won’t wow you with anything special, but if you’re looking for someone to being leadership and passion on your team, he’s your guy. Plays hard, will take the body and compete. Plays bigger than his size. Good player who has a chance to play in the NHL as a 4/5 d-men with some time for development.

Marc-Olivier Roy – Edmonton’s 2nd Round Pick, 56th Overall in 2013. Roy is the perfect complimentary player for this skilled group of forwards currently on Oilers roster; good size, plays with grit, strong two-way game, smart and versatile.

“New GM Peter Chiarelli selected McDavid with the 1st overall pick, automatically making the Oilers one of the 2015 draft day winners. However he didn’t stop there and addressed an organizational need by adding defensive depth by taking four d-men with his last 5 picks”, says ISS Hockey Director of Scouting Dennis MacInnis. “Overall Oilers fans must be excited with teams draft day haul knowing their team is in good hands (management) and heading in the right direction.”
